2019 Boston Marathon - 4:31:32

Where to even start with this one? There’s so much to say about Boston Marathon this year and only so many words I can reasonably ask y’all to read. Not that that’s ever stopped me before! Before the Boston Marathon last year, I had planned to be a one-and-done Boston runner. It’s such an amazing event and I don’t want to continuously take spot, preventing someone else from having the same experience. [Read More]

2019 Tokyo Marathon - 4:02:27

The Tokyo Marathon was my first marathon of 2019, first international marathon ever, eighteenth marathon overall, and my fourth World Marathon Major. So there was a lot going on here, but as I was running, I kept thinking how I didn’t think I’d have much to write about for it. Not from a lack of it being memorable, but I just couldn’t think of what I’d say. After sitting on it for a week, I think I have a ton! [Read More]

Looking back at 2018

I wasn’t actually going to do a recap post this year, but I haven’t posted in a while and I think I’ve done one every year this blog has been going so why stop now? Most of this year was spent traveling and running which, if you ask me, is the perfect way to spend your time. I had planned to run eight marathons in 2018. Unfortunately, I only ended up running five. [Read More]

2018 TCS NYC Marathon - 3:43:12

FINALLY! Finally, I got to run the NYC Marathon, the largest marathon in the world and my home race. I can’t believe it took this long, but I was 0/5 with the lottery before eventually taking advantage of NYRR’s 9+1 guaranteed entry. With 9+1, you run nine NYRR races and volunteer for one in a single calendar year. After doing this, you are given a guaranteed entry for the following year. [Read More]

Superhero Halloween Half Marathon - 1:48:32

Another weekend, another race. This one putting me at five races in six weeks. Three half marathons, a 10-miler , and a 10k. This seems to be becoming a trend for my marathon training as I lead up to race day. And, with less than two weeks to go, this was my last long run before NYC Marathon. It’s also worth mentioning that I think this was my 25th half marathon, but I haven’t actually taken two seconds to go verify if that’s true or not so let’s just assume that it is, okay? [Read More]

NYRR Staten Island Half Marathon - 1:45:39

I’m a little late getting this recap up, but such is laziness life, right? Right. So, as I mentioned in my Bronx 10 Mile recap, the Staten Island Half wraps up my goal to run each of the five NYC borough namesake races in 2018, which differs slightly from NYRR’s Five-Borough Series. I ran the Fred Lebow Manhattan Half, the Brooklyn Half Marathon, Queens 10k, Bronx 10-mile, and now the Staten Island Half. [Read More]

NYRR Bronx 10 Mile - 1:18:33

My second year running the NYRR Bronx 10 Mile race and, while I didn’t blog about it last year, it’s been a while since I’ve put anything up here so I figured why not give you a short little recap? Let’s do it! The Bronx 10 Mile is part of New York Road Runners’ Five-Borough Series which features races covering, you guessed it, all five NYC boroughs. One of my goals this year was to run each of the borough namesake races—Manhattan Half (which is not part of the Five-Borough series), Brooklyn Half Marathon, Queens 10k, Bronx 10 Mile, and Staten Island Half.
